Week 4: Why God Made Me

God has a purpose for you. God’s purpose means there is something special about you that only you can do. Your purpose includes what you are good at, what you care about, and what you have been through.
When you ask Jesus to live in your heart and save you from your sin, God’s Holy Spirit begins to teach your
heart how to trust and obey God. This is great, because it makes the part of you that wants to sin smaller. It also makes the part of you that wants to bring glory to God bigger. Just like we have a special purpose, our snack swords have a purpose too– to put together an awesome snack for our bellies!

John the Baptist understood that his purpose was about bringing God glory. Everything he did prepare a way for Jesus to come and save people from their sins. Your purpose is like that, too. Everything God put
inside of you to do prepares a road for Jesus to save others from their sin. When you help out a friend, you
show them God’s love. Now they know more about Jesus! When you forgive someone, you show them
that God forgives. Now they know more about Jesus!
When you serve others, you show that God is always there to help us. Now they know more about Jesus!
Everything you do to obey God prepares a way to teach others about Jesus. In the “Make a Path for
Jesus” game, your team will work together to make a path for Jesus to follow all the way across the room!

John 3:30 NLT

He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.

The Point
Be like Jesus every day, ‘Cause God’s purpose for you is here to stay!
